Plainfield @ Morristown (playoffs)

Plainfield was very flat against Morristown. Morristown seemed to have executed their game plan effectively. The Colonials of Morristown made a point to shut down the Cardinals run offense. The Cards finish with -2 yards rushing which included 10 stops for negative yards. 3 out of the 10 stops for negative yardage were quarterback sacks.

On the other hand Morristown, un-be knowing to the experts, enter the playoffs playing at their best. Morristown was so hot they are now in the state finals as the favorites to win it all.

On the positive side DiiJon Allen-Jordan completed 50% of his passes for 151 yards including 1 TD pass to Delano Mullings. Although, his 3 interceptions dampered his best passing performance of the season.

Jair Mack averaged 5 yds per carry.

Tiaquan Womack and Dawud Hicks led the Cardinals with defensive stops. Womack had one stop for negative yards.

Deion McNeill picked off a pass. McNeill has 5 interceptions so far this season.

Forecast for Thanksgiving Game:
Westfield has scouted the Cardinals very well and is looking to punctuate a good season with a Turkey Day thrashing of the Cardinals. The Blue Devils were concerned with the Cards running game but may have picked up something from the Morristown game on how to slow down Mullings, Gallimore, and Hicks. Hopefully Robinson will be healthy for a much needed help on both sides of the ball. Also look for Chad Lewis getting more attention from Westfield. Chad has not dropped an intended pass this season.

Plainfield @ Linden

Plainfield played a great game against a very powerful and arguably the best team in the county. Linden with 4 outstanding skill players came into the game averaging over 30 points a game. Plainfield defense did not allow any rusher over 100 yards.

Delano Mullings gave an outstanding effort with 2 touch down runs and over a 100 yards rushing.

On the defensive side, Tiaquan Womack continues to be a major factor in the trenches with multiple tackles for negative yards. Over a two game period, Womack has 8 stops in the back field. Dawud Hicks continues his relentless pursuit of ball carriers. Hicks lead the game in tackles.

This was a game that the Cardinals could have won, but poor tackling and turnovers doomed the Plainfield squad.

Next up: The playoffs - The Cards will travel to Morristown for a 1st round game. Can the Cards win their first playoff game of the 21st century?
